Green Energy

People think of and describe green energy in a number of different ways. As our environmental conscience increases, you see more and more companies describing their technologies and products as “green.” The most basic definition is probably “non-polluting,” though others will be more general than that and suggest anything that is an improvement environmentally over current technology is “green.”

In actuality, no energy source is entirely non-polluting. At the very least, the construction of the equipment will produce some emissions. But the basic idea of green energy is to protect future generations without sacrificing the needs of the present.

Green energy is usually brought up in the context of generating electricity, though a more complete discussion would also include efficient energy use in heating and mechanical power as well. In this way, consumers as well as business and other organizations can all be included in using green power to reduce their environmental impact.
